The Band
Four friends from North Frisia. A raw, guitar-driven late-90s live band — clubs, discos, festivals and private parties along the coast.
All songs and lyrics written by Mr. Po, 1998.
Artist history
Loud from the far north
North Frisia, late ’90s. Wind, flat land, long nights — and four guys in a rehearsal room cranking it all up to eleven. With “Stay Clean”, Mr. Po pressed a raw slice of northern rock history onto a CD.
The songs are rough around the edges and honest to the bone: life in Germany’s northernmost corner, torn between the fear of life and the hunger for it. Dark? Sometimes. Depressing? Never.
Electric guitar, bass, drums — loud and straight. Then “You” throws in didgeridoo, keyboard and acoustic guitar, and the haze of those hash-smoke days drifts right through the speakers. No small topic up here.
And when the party needs a kick, there’s “Whiskey In My Brain”. The title says it all. Seven tracks, four musicians, one record: stay clean.

“A band called Mr. Po”
Niebüll, March 1998. The local paper announced Mr. Po’s live show at the “Trichter” — and printed the story twice: once in German and once in Mooring North Frisian, “as a service for our Frisian readers”.
Mr. Po formed in 1996 from four members of different bands. From the start, the “North Frisian boys” Kai Jessen, Swen Joecks and Marko and Roland Strodthoff wrote all their melodies and lyrics themselves. These days they play “rock music up and down”, with cover songs on request, of course. After three months of hard studio work in Flensburg, Mr. Po now presents the CD “Stay Clean”. The band plays Niebüll’s “Trichter” on Friday, 13 March. Doors open at 10 pm.
